Large square type Xpelair extractor in the bathroom. Looks very dusty to the inside. Is there any way to clean it , it does not look like the front can be taken off to do this.

Hi and welcome.

They are always a pain.

I clean mine in the kitchen window by removing it completely.

Take the interior cover off it just clips on. Unplug the power from the top of the unit.

Remove the exterior cover. It's held on with screws.

I think there's two clips that hold the fan unit in place which need to be unscrewed.

You can then comletely remove the unit. Put it on a bench or table and use some degreasing solvent on it.

I put both the front and rear covers in soapy water and wash them.

It's as well to change the cord if it has one as they get greasy and clean around the edges of the glass on both sides.
Replacing it is just the reverse.

If it's a ceiling fan, there's some YouTube videos that will show you.
