Wires hanging from concrete ceiling

I have turned 2 small single bedrooms into one big room by smashing down a wall. In this wall was a power outlet that came down from the concrete ceiling. I am a bit stumped as to what to do with it as its just hanging in the middle of the room for now. It is about 400mm from the closest wall so I was thinking I could run it back to the wall but then I would have to make a grove in the concrete ceiling... or maybe I could cut the wire and plug the hole in the ceiling and forget about it but I think this isn't so responsible. Any ideas out there?

Is that an overhead light to the right of it? Would it be possible to fish the wire over there and just cap it off?
