I bought a under counter LED light that has the option of 2 prong detectable plug or being hardwired. I don't want the cord to be sen so I am going to hardwire it. The hardwire kit of course come with the ground wire and requires me to opent the light to attach the wires inside. My dad said that I should just cut the end of the plug and hardwire those to the outlet. I told him that there is probably a reason that they want you to ground the fixture. He says it is "perfectly safe but not up to code" I am skeptical so we made a lunch bet and you get to decide who gets the free lunch.
