Hi and welcome.

What sort of furniture?

I once made a larger cabinet out of marine ply, to house the innards of a record player.
The problem is the exposed laminations on any edges.
I solved that by using a coloured dye over some applied filler.
You can get faced plywood. But the problem is any cut with a jigsaw can disturb the laminations. Plywood is not like it used to be.

Which plywood is best for residential furniture? Please suggest.
Depending on what you are trying to accomplish you can usually find some decent veneered maple, oak, birch or other species that is nice on the eye. If you are going to paint, MDF is cheaper, solid and paints up nicely
