Whats Best Till Fill Cracks In Harwood Floor Before Paint

im remodeling a room, the floors were previously painted and have a few 1/2" cracks im going to patch. what is best to fill the other cracks between board before paint... its a 140yr old house so its not completely level... im also looking for a cheap solution so dont want to spend $100+ on floor leveler and cant find wood fill in bulk online. note: the floor had been painted and carpet on top with 1,000 staples even drywall screws all pullled(someone had no clue how to lay carpet worst job ive every seen)

Generally, any standard putty should be fine, but you might need some gypsum or plaster for better results.
