What are these?

I don't think they are actually electrical, but I didn't know where else to post this. I have no clue the purpose of these cables.

I am redoing this flowerbed in a house my wife and I bought last year. What are these cables coming out of the house and staked into the ground? They are coming from a remodeled garage (now a guest room). If I can get rid of them entirely, I would like to. If I need to plant around them, I can do that too. Thanks in advance for any help!

Those are ground wires and the stakes are grounding rods. Do not remove them. They are grounding out your electrical system.
