Hi there,
Our living room ceiling has chysotile bonded to the plasterboard (non-licensed). We had this tested when we moved in and, while the overall risk was deemed very low, the advice from the testers was to avoid drilling or cutting into the material. Since then, we accidentally made a pretty small hole in the board (less than than 2cm squared) and there broken part is hanging from the ceiling. My partner is worrying to death, but I'm inclined to cut around the small patch which is broken and use a mesh tap and filler to repair the hole (while wearing a mask etc, of course). Does this sound like the right approach to this forum? She is worried about me cutting further into the board, but I can't see any alternative.
Many thanks in advance - really appreciate any help,
Mike
