We have put a new skirting board on. We can't now open or close the door as it will hit the skirting. The door is off the hinges at the moment. Are you able to advise how we can get around this?
Presumably, the skirting board is thicker than the original. If it's an internal door and you aren't looking for too much work, can you have it either hinged from the other side, or opening the other way?
Failing that plane the back of the board down so it becomes the same thickness as the original
Thankyou.
Yeah I could plane it down. It's one massive piece so where would be the best place to start planing from? I was gunna glue it down as it's against the plaster but with the bending after planing will it hold?
