Hello all.
I have a question regarding applying joint compound to an existing wall.
The texture of the basement walls is dried paint that is super spike-y, enough to draw blood if you rub up against it hard enough.
Between sanding down the spikes, building sheetrock and frame walls, and skim coating with joint compound, I believe that skimming will be the least messy, moderately cost efficient, and relatively easy to implement myself (or if necessary, pay someone else to do it).
Here's my question: how many square feet will a pound (or gallon if you prefer) cover, on average?
I've got the square foot measurement, roughly 500 sq feet of walls.
I could just buy a tub, install it, and see how far I'd get, but I'd like to estimate it first, if possible.
Thanks in advance, and have a great day.
Curt
