Hi.
We have a bedroom in our house that had a leak, and subsequently needed to be repaired.
We did so with plasterboard affixed to the joists and skimmed over with multi-finish plaster.
It turned out well and I was surprised at the smooth finish I was able to get with it, having never plastered anything before.
We've decide redecorate the room in question, and would like to paint the ceilings.
The ceiling is lime & horsehair plaster onto laths, and has quite a lot of cracks in it.
I was wondering whether it would be possible for a layman to do a double coat skim with multi-finish and get a decent enough finish to paint?
I know that it's considered pretty difficult to get a decent finish if you're not a pro, so I was just curious as to whether anyone else has attempted it and gotten good results?
Thanks a lot.
