New here. We have an outdated Delta brass shower/tub combo and I wanted to replace the trim. I got peerless trim kit as replacement. The cartridges looks to be same size.
My issue is the tub/shower diverter valve. The existing unit's shower push control is immediately below the single water handle, above the tub faucet. See picture. On the new trim parts there is no hole for this, the diverter valve is part of the bath faucet. Is there a solution to remove the old diverter valve pushbutton? I guess I could cut the push button off flush - the new trim kit looks like it stands off 1/4 to 3/8" from this diverter valve tee. Is there a better solution?
Prefer not to pull the shower apart or open the wall behind the shower to make a full replacement. I was hoping for a plug or maybe a cap i could sweat onto this.
