Bought my first house last year - a ground floor flat of a Victorian end terrace build in 1884. Been doing it up myself due to lack of funds and enjoying learning new things, however after ripping up the hall and bathroom floors I think I've met my match!
There's rot all over the place. Some I can attribute to a cracked ceramic toilet waste pipe and a poor bath seal. But eh pics show the hallway/entranceway which is completely rotten including the joists, and very damp in places.
How can I rip out the subfloor joists to replace them without it falling down and how can I prevent the same rot happening?
Could the damp be coming as the ground level outside if higher than the floor level? Any advice welcomed, thanks!
