Hey everybody. I need help rewiring my light fixture. I currently have a 4 bulb fluorescent light fixture that I'm taking out the ballast on and wiring the sockets directly for led t-8 bulbs. I know exactly how to wire it but I'm having trouble getting the right wire for the project. I need 18 gauge wire but lowes only sells low voltage -"150 volt wire. I'm using 120 volt electricity but that seems to be cutting it close. This wire is to connect my 12/2 house wire to the sockets for the bulbs. So at most each wire will be pulling 20 watts at 120 volts. Today I picked up some 18/2 300 volt wire in a big spool at a flea market. Will this work? It's technically fire alarm wire. I'm attaching the spec sheet for you to look at from the manufacturers website. Thanks!
