Recessed Can Trouble

I'm having trouble with some of my recessed cans. Most have had torsion springs and have been easy to remove so that I can put an LED retrofit trim, but these don't seem to have them. Any idea how I can remove these? I assume I will need to use the friction blade attachment since there's no spring clips? Thanks.

If there are no small metallic black clips in those vertical slots (x4), the can (AKA: pot) is being held in place by an alternate "bootleg" manner. You'd have to gently pull it downwards and try to "feel" the manner in which the pot (can) is being held up in position. The previous owner may have glued it.
