A few days ago, we had new granite installed in our kitchen. At one point during the installation, I noticed the installers cutting into the wall to make room to slide the granite in to fit properly. They told me this was normal, so I didn't question it. Today, I attempted to plug in my beloved Instant Pot to an outlet on that same wall that was cut and a spark flew from the outlet and now my appliance doesn't work.
So, my question is, what are the chances they cut a wire when they cut the wall? And is there some way I can test the wiring without actually removing sheet rock to inspect the wires? Or do we need to remove the sheet rock to see if any damage was done?
