Hi,
I want to make in my basement a room in which me and my friends can hang out and watch some movies.
I need to make it soundproof.
My basement is room n 1, 3,8m×2,5 m, ceilings are about 3 m high.
Room 4 and 5 are basements,
Room 2 and 3 are apartments, room 2 is a bedroom and the guy who lives there is paranoid for night noises and gets upset at the minimum noise.
Above us on the top floor there s another apartment, if possible we should soundproof the ceiling too.
The basements are underground, and the black area in the north is just that: ground.
What i need to do is make the basement soundproof enough for me and a few friends to hang out there and watch movies, keeping our voices and the volume lowered.
10 square metres of soundproof panels 7cm thick cost 150$, 3 cm panels cost half that.
The drywall in the basement is not very resistant.
I m a beginner in DIY, i haven t got much money.
It doesn t need to be 100% soundproof, i know that costs a lot.
What i thought is maybe i make soundproof only the south wall and maybe the ceiling, putting the panels on them.
How complicated is that?
Is it effective to soundproof just a wall?
Around how much should it cost me?
Thanks for your help
