I've just moved into a new house and I'm looking at things to "tweak" (I'm not looking to make major changes just yet!)
In the master bedroom there is fitted furniture, and above each bedside table is a twin socket (which I assume is off the main ring), and from it a switched (and fused) spur to a wall mounted bedside lamp (halogen).
I'd like to replace the switch with a rotary dimmer but obviously want to retain the fuse. Given that I don't want to be digging into the wall to add a new box for the dimmer switch what I'm ideally looking for is a rotary dimmer with built in cartridge fuse holder, but they don't seem to exist.
Am I wasting my time here or is there an obvious workaround?
(NB: The cable to the fitting from the existing switch looks to be 1mm twin & earth.)
