Floor lamp foot switch

I have a floor lamp with a foot switch that works but as soon as you release the switch it turns off. Help!!

Sorry for the slow response. Since you have the unit apart, press in on the switch actuator. If it latches, then you need to adjust the foot lever so that it has enough motion to latch and unlatch the switch.
