I hope someone can help.
We have a cottage with a wide plank ledge front door. The door has been assembled with cast iron rose head nails that go through the door into the ledges, preventing fitting a mortice lock into the midrail.
Can the mortice lock be 'boxed in' on the inside of the door, maybe just above the midrail? Would this be a practical solution?
Thanks - Paul
