Hello all,
BY Trade i am a carpenter, but have started an extension of my own and have come across a problem im not sure who is responsible for? The earth to the property on both my own property and the nieghbours is just wrapped around the incoming supply before the meter and box that splits the main live and neutral. i have been advised that this is unsafe as the resistance on the earth will be very high. i dont question the advice but my nieghbour has tried to enquire from her electricity provider why they have not rectified the fault, the supplier has then put her in touch with eon who want to charge her £160 to fit a proper earthbut she will have to wait 8 weeks. surely the company is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment on thier side of the meter? any advice?
