Cannot open the Tap Head - Top cap

Hi,
I have an old tap on the bath. Please see the attached image.

Recently the water pressure is very low and flow is very slow.

I cleaned the aerator. It is clean.

The next step is to check the washer in the cartridge.

But, I cannot open the top cap of the tap.

How do I remove the tap cap. Please see the attached images.

I am not a plumber. Can anyone please help me?

Nice design [not seen one that I can recall]

Have you tried a very, very. VERY. Thin small flat bladed screwdriver?? or similar tool.

Go really easy, one slip and you will scratch / gouge the taps surfaces.

Suggest using small flat screwdriver, try and insert the driver between the finger grip [gold] bit and the top domed cap, it may?? be a snap on fit, if so then the top dome cap could pop off and allow access??

Most taps have a snap top which in effect clip on / off.
