Could be air in the system,or sticky valves on the radiators. If you have thermostatic valves on the rads they are often fitted incorrectly so the water doesnt flow correctly and they are noisy when trying to open; if the noise stops when you turn the valve up or down then that is the problem. The valves usually have an arrow which signifies the correct direction of flow.
