Hi all! New here!
I recently purchased an emeberglow set from Home Depot, and when I went to install it I found that in our fireplace the previous owner had capped the gas line and left a slit in the cap (?). I went to loosen the cap, and it seems to be pretty stuck on there. I even went at it with vice grips, and didn't want to pull too hard as i dont want to damage the main pipe. Should I maybe try some PB Blaster? Or should I forget about the gas fireplace and burn wood? my fireplace is masonry work so I believe that replacing the pipe would be very costly. If i cut the cap off would there be a way to thread the pipe?
