1.5mm flex cable?

I have an electric inset fire that has the feed on the right side.
Would 1.5 cable be OK to change it to the left?

I depends on how much current your fire needs. Some fires are just decorative - other have heating elements.

The current carrying capacity is stated below.

It might be that your fire's output is stated as Watts rather than Amps. Watts = Amps x Volts, so for example, 14 Amps x 240 Volts (nominal UK Mains Voltage) = 3,360 Watts (3.36 KW), so 1.5mm it should be more than enough.
